The University Band program has continued to raise the bar of excellence both on the playing field and on the concert stage. We are proud to report just a few of the many recent accomplishments of our Band program:

• Supporting Four National Championship Football and Basketball seasons in the last 4 years with outstanding Marching Bands and Pep Bands.

• Concert performances at every significant national conference of music and bands internationally and in the U.S. such as the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensemble Convention in Singapore, 2005, and the American Bandmaster’s convention in Miami 2008.

• Several official Grammy entries in the Best Orchestral Performance and Best Classical Album category of the Grammys.

These achievements would not have been possible without the support of our friends and alumni. The significant cost of our uniforms, equipment, and practice space are all supplemented by generous gifts from the alumni and friends of the Band, and we are so very grateful for the support that enables us to continue to work our hardest to inspire that infectious roar of the Gator Nation.

Even during difficult economic times such as these, our Band is marching on with a great drive for more success. The University Band program is one of the largest and most visible student organizations at UF, involving more than 600 spirited students across the campus. The program has a proud history of providing high-quality service to the University of Florida, including appearances at national sporting championships as well as to the State of Florida and the music profession as a whole.
