2009 FDL Hand Session Information

Anyone interested in auditioning for the University of Florida Drumline is invited to attend our "hand-sessions" prior to the August 13-14 audition camp. These are not mandatory but strongly recommended. "Hand-Session" Dates (strongly recommended):
 

• There will be a hand session on July 18th - times TBA soon, please check back!

All sessions will take place at the UF Music Building. At these sessions, we will cover technique used in FDL, the warm-up packet, cadences, and other audition material. We also welcome current high school students that are interested in improving their technique through practice in a college drumline setting.

Things to bring to "Hand-Sessions":

• sticks/mallets

• pad

• 3-ring binder with protective sheets

• music downloaded from this website

• tennis shoes

High School students, if possible, please provide your own snare/quads/basses.

FDL Audition Camp (mandatory):

• August 13, 2009 (9am-9pm)

• August 14, 2009 (9am-9pm)

The line will be set by the end of practice on August 14th. Those earning spots on the 2009-2010 edition of FDL will be required to stay for Drum/Band Camp (August 15-22).

Please make housing arrangements for this time as dorms are not open until August 16. We will assist with last-minute housing necessities as the need arises.
